Hey Keith Olbermann, while you’re it with calling out the racists from your bully pulpit, how about a word on the sickening orgy of anti-Asian and anti-Japanese racism that is passing for "news coverage" from American media on the Toyota recall.
And yes, that includes from your own network MSNBC, Keith.
Could you just imagine if any one of the many product recalls from manufactures in Mexico started talking about those lazy Mexicans, or in the case of the breathtaking oversights that led to the death of so many in Haiti, reports started musing over those dumb Blacks?
Neither can I, and thank God for it.
Yet this is precisely how many mainstream U.S. news reports are covering the Toyota brake recall. With all of the sneaky Japanese and scheming Asians innuendo being thrown around, you’d think you were at a Tea Party rally. Or a 1940s Japanese Citizens Internment prison camp.
In the U.S., it’s open season for racism against Japanese and Asians, and not even that great champion of calling out racism himself, Keith Olbermann, bothers to mention it.
